Karen Doppke Award Seminar Series

The Karen Doppke Award for Women in Medical Physics was established in 2022 in honor of Karen P. Doppke, MS, DABR, FAAPM, FACR, for her many contributions to the field of medical physics. Mid-career, female-identifying, physicists are sought from all areas of medical physics, including therapeutic, diagnostic, nuclear medicine, and radiation safety. Applicants are evaluated for their contributions to medical physics in clinical practice, clinical innovation, education, mentorship, leadership, and professional community service such as with local and national organizations. This award includes an honorarium and a visiting lecture at Mass General. 


Physics Seminar Series

The Mass General Radiation Oncology Physics Seminar Series is a weekly seminar series held on Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. EST. Speakers from around the world present their latest research related to Radiation Oncology, with a focus on Medical Physics, but reaching out across disciplines including biology, clinical research, and all sciences.

Techniques of Proton Radiotherapy

A course designed by Bernard Gottschalk, PhD for persons who are, or plan to be, occupied with the design, maintenance, or upgrade of proton radiotherapy facilities. A wide variety of topics are covered including Bragg peak, single scattering, and nuclear reactions.

Suggested Prerequisite: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
