Abstract: This seminar will discuss the approach to developing and implementing AI models in radiation therapy workflows for improved patient outcomes. The presentation will cover the deployment of AI for automated contouring and treatment planning, as well as quality assurance methods for plan and contour QA. The seminar will highlight the benefits and challenges of integrating AI technology into clinical practice, and share insights on how AI can enhance the accuracy and efficiency of radiation therapy workflows.
About the speaker: Christian Guthier, PhD is a faculty physicist specializing in radiation oncology. He earned his PhD in Physics from Heidelberg University in 2015 and completed a Postdoctoral fellowship at DFCI/BWH until 2018. He then completed his Medical Physics Residency at Harvard Medical School and obtained board certification in Medical Physics in 2022. Dr. Guthier's research interests include the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to radiation oncology, with a focus on developing AI algorithms for clinical practice. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, flying, and skiing.
