Abstract: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) has developed an in-house automated treatment planning system called ECHO (Expedited Constrained Hierarchical Optimization) which has been used, to date, to treat more than 5,000 patients of different disease sites (paraspinal, oligomets, prostate, lung). ECHO is integrated with Eclipse treatment planning system (TPS) using API scripting, requiring user interaction solely to prepare the contours and beam arrangement prior to launching the ECHO plug-in from the TPS. We will present in this talk, the algorithm development of ECHO plus the pre-clinical evaluation and clinical implementation.
About the speaker: Masoud Zarepisheh received his PhD in applied mathematics from Tehran Polytechnic University and University of Florida, mainly focusing on theoretical aspects of optimization and mathematical modeling. He has later received his postdoctoral training at University of California in San Diego and Stanford, where he focused on algorithm development and optimization problems arising in radiotherapy treatment planning. Masoud is currently a faculty member and associate attending at Department of Medical Physics in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
