The Department of Radiation Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position. Our research group is at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence with cancer therapy to pioneer advancements in personalized radiotherapy. We are housed in the vibrant city of Boston, a hub for medical innovations, known for its rich history and dynamic research community.

 

Project Focus: This project aims to study normal tissue toxicity associated with radiotherapy, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer and extending to other sites. We are dedicated to refining radiotherapy personalization through innovative research.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement machine learning predictive models and deep learning algorithms tailored for radiotherapy applications.
  • Engage in image registration and voxel-based analysis to enhance treatment precision.
  • Conduct comprehensive statistical analyses, including feature selection and hypothesis testing, to support model development and validation.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate clinical insights with technical advancements.

 

Requirements:

  • PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with image processing and analysis, particularly in medical imaging.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and clinical collaborations.
