Maximillian Niyazi (LMU): Future of glioblastoma therapy: Old concepts reloaded
Tuesday 29 November 2022, 12:00pm - 01:00pm

Abstract: Glioblastoma is the most aggressive brain tumor and prognosis remains dismal. This talk will focus on all details you ever wanted to know around optimal imaging, contouring & guidelines from a European perspective, the role of dose escalation and why many trials might have failed, pathomechanisms of radiation necrosis and potential ways to tackle this deadly disease in future. Sincerely hoping for a very active exchange of ideas.

About the speaker: Max Niyazi is vice chair at the Department of Radiation Oncology, University Hospital, LMU Munich, father of two kids and 37 years old. He holds a professorship and degrees in medicine and physics. He had been appointed as vice chair after a stay at MGH in 2017 as research fellow to Helen Shih, and he’s still very active in the OSRT consortium together with Thomas Bortfeld and Ali Ajdari.
